Amazing Scavenger Hunt Adventure-Big Bear Lake Mini Quest – Combine the excitement of the Amazing Race with a two-hour city tour. Guided from any smart phone, teams make their way among well-known and overlooked gems of the city, solving clues and completing challenges while learning local history. Start when you want and play at your pace. Also available Saturday 1/29 and Sunday 1/30.
Night Sessions at Snow Summit Friday 1/28 and Saturday 1/29, 3 pm – 8:30 pm.

Ski California Safety Day – 10 am to 1 pm – Stop by the Safety Booth at the Bear and Summit base areas for the 4th Annual Ski California Safety Day. Take pictures with Biggie Bear or Nala the Patrol Dog, answer Ski Safety trivia for prizes (while supplies last), or complete the safety scavenger hunt for a chance to win a $25 gift card! Check Out their Instagram competition for a prize!
Bald Eagle Nest Watch – Have you heard, Jackie laid 2 eggs! Happy Dance! Join Robin Martin, a volunteer naturalist, at Dana Point Park in Fawnskin. Spotting scope will be set up to view the eagle nest! Bring your questions about Big Bear’s resident Bald Eagles, Jackie and Shadow!
Lytle Creek Nursery Volunteer Event – Outside of Big Bear, located in the San Bernardino Mountains, join Big Bear Discovery Center’s restoration team as they water plants in the nursery. These plants are grown at Lytle Creek Nursery to eventually be used in forest restoration projects. Pre-registration is required.
Snowshoe Eco-Tour with Big Bear Discovery Center – Join volunteer naturalists on a guided snowshoe tour in the San Bernardino National Forest. Snowshoes, poles, a snack and water are provided. 9 am – 12 pm at Towne Trail, Knickerbocker/Pennsylvania.
Nature Crafts 10 am – 10:45 am – Family Fun making nature crafts at Big Bear Discovery Center. This week make an owl necklace. Great for kids of all ages. Free!
Nature Walk – Join a volunteer naturalist for a nature walk and learn about Big Bear’s flora and fauna and Big Bear history! Walk takes place at Discovery Trail and is appropriate for all ages. 1 pm – 1:45 pm OR 2 pm – 2:45 pm.
Grateful Heart Animal Sanctuary Tour Take a one and a half hour tour, hear stories, and learn about their rescues. Grateful Heart Animal Sanctuary has rescued and given forever homes to horses, burros, chickens, ducks, roosters, bunnies, goats, pigs, dogs, cats and a steer. Please note, per the event page, ticket sales end 2 days prior to the event. Visit Grateful Heart Animal Sanctuary for additional information and be sure to mark your calendar for February 26th for an upcoming tour. 1 pm – 2:30 pm.

Pinecone Bird Feeder Craft – Make your own pinecone birdfeeder at the Big Bear Discovery Center! 10 am – 1 pm. Free!
Nature Walk – Join a volunteer naturalist for a nature walk and learn about Big Bear’s flora and fauna and Big Bear history. Walk takes place at Discovery Trail and is appropriate for all ages. 11 am – 11:45 pm OR 12 pm – 12:45 pm.
Outdoor Yoga with Big Bear Yoga – 8:30 am at Nana Ave. & Pioneer Lane 92314. Text 909-584-5270 to confirm class is scheduled.
Uniform Days
Snow Summit and Bear Mountain – On February 2nd-3rd, active law enforcement, firefighters, military, and EMS can ski and snowboard for a discounted rate of $59! Mark your calendar and THANK YOU for your service!
